About Sarana Stays

Find your refuge.

A small hospitality company caring for homes in Sayulita and San Pancho, on Mexico's Riviera Nayarit.

Meet the founder

Steve Killen

Steve fell in love with the Riviera Nayarit and built his work around it. Before Sarana Stays he led growth for a publicly traded hospitality brand in the U.S., then spent years running short-term rentals here in Sayulita and San Pancho.

He started Sarana Stays to look after a small number of homes the way a good hotel looks after its guests: personally, by people who live here and know the place. Sarana comes from the Sanskrit word for refuge.

Local people, looking after every stay

  1. We're here

Our team lives in Sayulita and San Pancho. If you need something, someone nearby can help.

  2. We know every home

We prepare and look after each home ourselves, so it is ready when you arrive.

  3. We know the area

Where to eat, which beach suits your day, when the whales pass. Ask us, or read our local guides.
